He is widely recognized for his clinical and translational research efforts in thoracic oncology. He has authored multiple manuscripts and guidelines on lung cancer management, esophageal cancer, and multimodal treatment models. Dr. Stiles has also shared his insights through invited talks at national and international oncology conferences.
He is deeply involved in leadership, mentorship, and advocacy within the lung cancer community. Since 2017, he has chaired the Lung Cancer Research Foundation and holds roles in the National Lung Cancer Roundtable and Lung-RADS Steering Committee. He is an active member of professional societies—including AATS, STS, ASCO, ESTS, and IASLC—and contributes to lung cancer screening standards. Through his combination of patient-centered surgical care, bench-to-bedside research, and leadership in education and advocacy, Dr. Stiles is considered a top expert in thoracic surgical oncology.
