Dr. Carlos L.Arteaga

Dr. Carlos L. Arteaga, MD, is a world-renowned medical oncologist and physician-scientist specializing in breast cancer biology and precision oncology. He serves as Director of the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center at UT Southwestern Medical Center and holds the Lisa K. Simmons Distinguished Chair in Comprehensive Oncology. Dr. Arteaga earned his medical degree from the Universidad de Guayaquil in Ecuador, completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Emory University, and pursued fellowship training in Medical Oncology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology and is recognized as a global leader in translational breast cancer research.
