Dr. Divino leads the Division of General Surgery at the Mount Sinai Health System and holds the Stanley Edelman Professorship of Surgery, roles that place her at the nexus of clinical care, education, and research. She directs the general-surgery residency, crafting curricula that integrate evidence-based decision making with hands-on technical mastery. Her administrative scope spans multiple Manhattan campuses, where she coordinates surgical quality initiatives and multidisciplinary tumor boards for gastrointestinal and neuroendocrine malignancies.

A board-certified general surgeon, Dr. Divino concentrates on minimally invasive and laparoscopic approaches to colorectal and neuroendocrine tumors, aligning operative strategy with tumor biology and patient-reported goals. Her laboratory collaborations examine surgical-oncology outcomes, including quality-of-life changes after resection of intestinal and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors and the role of early ambulation in colorectal recovery. Grants from federal agencies and professional societies support her translational work on mesenteric tumor behavior and perioperative immunomodulation.

Mentorship anchors Dr. Divino’s practice. She founded Mount Sinai’s Center for Surgical Simulation, Robotics, and Artificial Intelligence to provide trainees with risk-free rehearsal space that mirrors today’s hybrid operating rooms. Nationally, she serves on American College of Surgeons advisory councils and the ACS Academy of Master Surgeon Educators, shaping policy on novel techniques and resident well-being. Her approach couples meticulous operative planning with open dialogue, ensuring that each patient understands therapeutic options and the evidentiary basis behind them.
