Dr. Eric Tai-Lee Wong, MD, is a neuro-oncologist and clinical researcher specializing in primary brain tumors and neurological complications of cancer. He is Professor of Neurology at Boston University School of Medicine and serves as Director of the Neuro-Oncology Program at Boston Medical Center. Dr. Wong earned his medical degree from the University of Toronto, completed his neurology residency at the University of Toronto, and pursued fellowship training in neuro-oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He is board-certified in Neurology and Neuro-Oncology.
Dr. Wong’s research focuses on the treatment of glioblastoma and other malignant gliomas, including the development of novel therapeutics such as tumor-treating fields, targeted agents, and immunotherapies. He has led clinical trials investigating new approaches to overcome therapeutic resistance in high-grade gliomas and has contributed to translational research on tumor biology and neuroimaging biomarkers.
In addition to his clinical and research work, Dr. Wong is dedicated to training the next generation of neuro-oncologists and advancing multidisciplinary care for patients with brain tumors. He has published extensively, served on editorial boards, and participated in the creation of national treatment guidelines. Dr. Eric Wong’s career reflects a commitment to improving both the survival and quality of life of patients facing complex neurological cancers.
