Dr. Hanna K. Sanoff, MD, MPH, is a gastrointestinal medical oncologist and clinical researcher specializing in colorectal cancer and hepatobiliary malignancies. She serves as Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, and is a member of the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Sanoff earned her medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, completed her internal medicine residency at the University of North Carolina, and her fellowship in hematology/oncology at the same institution. She also holds a Master of Public Health from the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health.
Dr. Sanoff’s research focuses on improving treatment outcomes for gastrointestinal cancers through clinical trials, health services research, and real-world evidence studies. She has led studies evaluating novel chemotherapy regimens, targeted therapies, and immunotherapies for colorectal and liver cancers, as well as research on disparities in cancer care delivery.
