Dr. Marwan Fakih

Dr. Marwan G. Fakih, MD, is a globally recognized medical oncologist specializing in gastrointestinal malignancies, based at City of Hope in Duarte, California. As Professor in the Department of Medical Oncology & Therapeutics Research and Division Chief of Gastrointestinal Medical Oncology, he holds key leadership roles, including Associate Director for Clinical Research Infrastructure and Medical Director of the Judy & Bernard Briskin Center for Clinical Research. Originating from Lebanon, Dr. Fakih earned his MD from the American University of Beirut in 1992 and completed residency training in Internal Medicine at Wayne State University, followed by a Hematology-Oncology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Board-certified in medical oncology, he brings over three decades of clinical expertise to treating complex gastrointestinal cancers.

Dr. Fakih has established himself as a leading figure in translational oncology research and clinical therapeutics. He has authored more than 240 peer-reviewed publications and has led numerous clinical trials centered on novel drug development for colorectal cancer, biomarker-driven therapies, and early-phase cancer therapeutics.
