Dr. Richard J. Wong, MD, is a leading head and neck surgical oncologist renowned for his expertise in thyroid, parathyroid, and advanced head and neck cancers. He serves as Chief of the Head and Neck Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and is a Professor of Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Wong earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed his residency in general surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital, followed by a fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering. He is board-certified in Surgery and has built a distinguished career focused on complex oncologic procedures of the head and neck.

Dr. Wong’s clinical and research interests center on precision surgery, minimally invasive approaches, and the integration of molecular diagnostics in cancer management. He has played a pivotal role in advancing surgical care for thyroid and parathyroid tumors, as well as recurrent and high-risk head and neck malignancies.
