Dr. Ritu Salani - Gynecologic Oncology

Dr. Salani is a board-certified gynecologic oncologist who directs the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at UCLA Health. She holds professorial appointments in Obstetrics and Gynecology and serves as Fellowship Director for the Gynecologic Oncology Training Program. Her clinical practice emphasizes personalized management of ovarian, cervical, endometrial, and vulvar malignancies, combining surgical expertise with systemic therapies.

 

Dr. Salani’s research portfolio focuses on early-onset and recurrent gynecologic cancers. She leads trials examining immunotherapy combined with chemoradiation in cervical cancer and novel regimens for platinum-resistant ovarian cancer. Her work on sentinel-lymph-node mapping in endometrial cancer has informed surgical guidelines. She investigates circulating tumor DNA as a biomarker for recurrence, collaborating with translational scientists to refine surveillance strategies.

 

Dr. Salani integrates academic roles with patient advocacy and education. She chairs guideline panels for the National Comprehensive Cancer Network on cervical and uterine malignancies.
