Dr. Robert W. Holloway

Dr. Robert J. Holloway serves as medical director of the Gynecologic Oncology Program at AdventHealth Cancer Institute and is a founding member of the Global Robotics Institute in Orlando. Board-certified in obstetrics & gynecology and in gynecologic oncology, he completed medical school at Vanderbilt University, residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and fellowship training at Georgetown University Hospital, grounding his operative practice in evidence-based surgical oncology and minimally invasive innovation. He oversees a busy referral service that combines robotic, laparoscopic, and traditional approaches with in-house translational scientists who explore novel viral immunotherapies for platinum-resistant ovarian cancer.

 

Consultations take place in a single multidisciplinary visit at the Orlando campus, where imaging, pathology, and genomics are reviewed before Dr. Holloway sketches operative plans, clarifies fertility or ostomy concerns, and confirms logistical barriers such as travel or caregiver support. Telehealth portals, bilingual nurse navigators, and electronic symptom dashboards flag steroid toxicity, thromboembolism risk, or neuropathy early, lowering emergency-department use and improving patient-reported outcomes captured by the institute’s quality registry.
