Dr. Rodney P. Rocconi

Dr. Rodney P. Rocconi, MD, is a respected gynecologic oncologist recognized for his clinical expertise and leadership in advancing care for women with gynecologic cancers. He currently serves as Interim Director of the Mitchell Cancer Institute at the University of South Alabama, where he leads efforts in clinical care, research, and community outreach. Dr. Rocconi earned his medical degree, completed residency training in obstetrics and gynecology, and pursued fellowship training in gynecologic oncology, establishing his career as a trusted clinician and academic leader. He is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology and valued for his dedication to improving outcomes for women with cancer.

Dr. Rocconi’s research has centered on health disparities, novel therapeutics, and the development of innovative approaches to prevention and treatment of gynecologic cancers. He has contributed to multiple clinical trials and published widely on efforts to expand access to cancer care and reduce barriers for underserved populations.
