Medical Oncologist, Hematologist Oncologist, specializing in Breast Cancer
Dr. Shou-Ching Tang, MD, PhD, is a respected medical oncologist specializing in breast and gastrointestinal cancers, with additional expertise in translational cancer research. He serves as Medical Director of the Oncology Research Program and Co-Director of the Breast Cancer Multidisciplinary Program at Georgia Cancer Center, Augusta University. Dr. Tang earned his medical degree from Tongji Medical University in China and a PhD in cancer biology from the University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. He completed residency training in internal medicine and fellowship in hematology/oncology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology.
A dedicated researcher and clinician, Dr. Tang has contributed to the development of targeted and immune-based therapies for breast and gastrointestinal malignancies. His work bridges laboratory research with clinical application, and he has led and collaborated on clinical trials investigating novel treatment strategies. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals, particularly in the areas of breast cancer biology and translational therapeutics, and his research has been supported by NIH and extramural funding.
In addition to his clinical and research efforts, Dr. Tang is an experienced educator and mentor, training fellows and junior faculty in oncology and translational research. He has held leadership roles within Augusta University’s cancer program and has collaborated internationally on cancer research initiatives. Through his commitment to patient care, translational discovery, and education, Dr. Shou-Ching Tang continues to advance oncology both regionally and nationally.
