Dr. Steven C. Katz, MD, is a widely respected surgical oncologist and physician-scientist specializing in hepatobiliary and pancreatic cancers, with a focus on cancer immunotherapy and translational research. He serves as Chief of Surgical Oncology and Director of the Surgical Oncology Research Laboratory at Boston Medical Center and is a Professor of Surgery at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. Dr. Katz earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine and completed his residency in general surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in surgical oncology at the National Cancer Institute. He is board-certified in Surgery and is recognized for his expertise in tumor immunology and innovative clinical trial design.
Dr. Katz’s research has focused on the development of novel immune-based therapies for gastrointestinal cancers, including liver and pancreatic malignancies.
