Dr. Steven D. Wexner

Dr. Steven D. Wexner, MD, PhD (Hon), is a world-leading colorectal surgical oncologist specializing in the treatment of colorectal cancer and complex anorectal disorders. He serves as Director of the Digestive Disease Center and Chair of the Department of Colorectal Surgery at Cleveland Clinic Florida. Dr. Wexner earned his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College, completed his general surgery residency at Roosevelt Hospital in New York, and pursued specialized training in colorectal surgery. He is board-certified in General Surgery and Colon and Rectal Surgery.

Dr. Wexner is internationally renowned for his pioneering work in minimally invasive and sphincter-preserving surgical techniques for colorectal cancer. He developed and popularized the Wexner Incontinence Score, a globally adopted tool for evaluating fecal incontinence.
