Dr. Susan L. Cohn, MD, is a nationally recognized pediatric oncologist specializing in neuroblastoma and rare pediatric solid tumors. She serves as Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Chicago and Director of Clinical Research for Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children’s Hospital. Dr. Cohn earned her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, completed her residency in pediatrics at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center, and pursued fellowship training in pediatric hematology/oncology at the University of Chicago. She is board-certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and is widely regarded for her leadership in advancing risk stratification and targeted therapies for children with high-risk neuroblastoma.
An authority in pediatric oncology research, Dr. Cohn has led international studies that developed risk classification systems for neuroblastoma and has contributed to the design of clinical trials that have improved outcomes for children with relapsed and refractory disease. She has authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications and has been a leader in the Children’s Oncology Group, where she chaired the Neuroblastoma Committee. Her research has helped establish biomarkers and genomic profiling as essential tools in pediatric cancer care.
