Dr. Timothy J. Yeatman

Dr. Timothy J. Yeatman, MD, is a respected surgical oncologist and cancer researcher specializing in gastrointestinal malignancies, with a particular focus on colorectal cancer. He is President and Director of the Gibbs Cancer Center & Research Institute and serves as a Professor of Surgery at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville. Dr. Yeatman earned his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine and completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Florida, where he also pursued fellowship training in surgical oncology. He is board-certified in General Surgery and is noted for his expertise in translational oncology and personalized cancer therapy.

Dr. Yeatman has been a pioneer in integrating genomic medicine into cancer care. He led one of the first large-scale efforts in molecular profiling of colorectal cancer, contributing to the development of novel biomarkers and individualized treatment strategies. His work has been widely published in peer-reviewed journals and has helped advance precision oncology initiatives at both academic and clinical levels.
