Dr. Han Xiao

Dr. Han Xiao, MD, is a medical oncologist specializing in genitourinary cancers, including bladder, prostate, kidney, and testicular cancers. He practices at MSK Basking Ridge, where he has cared for patients for more than a decade, and serves as Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine. Working closely with colleagues in Manhattan and throughout Memorial Sloan Kettering's regional care network, he is committed to delivering care that meets the highest standards of excellence. Dr. Xiao's path into oncology was shaped early in life by his mother, an oncologist in China, whose work inspired him to dedicate his career to helping patients and families facing the uncertainties of a cancer diagnosis.

Dr. Xiao takes a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to treating genitourinary cancers, collaborating closely with surgeons and radiation oncologists at MSK Basking Ridge. Treatment plans he develops for patients may incorporate radiation, surgery, chemotherapy, hormone therapy, immunotherapy, genetic testing, and targeted or monoclonal antibody therapies, tailored to the individual. He draws on an expanded understanding of cancer biology and genetics, along with access to an array of advanced treatments and clinical trials, to offer patients meaningful hope alongside rigorous, personalized care.

At MSK Basking Ridge, Dr. Xiao and his team provide patients with access to a growing number of clinical trials as well as a full range of supportive services, including social work, nutrition counseling, pain management, lymphedema and physical therapy, and acupuncture. His goal is to bring MSK's superior cancer care to patients closer to home, within a welcoming and compassionate environment. Dr. Xiao is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, and outside of medicine he enjoys photography, golf, and time with his family.
