Gynecologic Medical Oncologist, specializing in Gynecologic Cancers
Paul Sabbatini, MD, is a board-certified internist and medical oncologist specializing in the care of women with gynecologic malignancies, including ovarian, uterine, and cervical cancers, as well as other less common gynecologic tumors. He practices at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK), where he also serves as Senior Vice President for Clinical Research. His clinical approach centers on delivering the highest quality of care through both standard and investigational treatments, with active participation in a broad range of clinical trials aimed at improving outcomes for women with gynecologic cancer.
Dr. Sabbatini's personal research focus is the evaluation of new treatment approaches for ovarian cancer patients who have achieved remission following initial therapy. His primary goal in these studies is to prolong remission and ultimately prevent relapse. He and his colleagues are investigating novel agents, including vaccines designed to help the immune system prevent cancer recurrence, as well as immune-targeted therapies for patients whose disease has returned after surgery and chemotherapy. He serves as an investigator across all clinical trials on the Gynecologic Medical Oncology Service and contributes to several committees for the Gynecologic Oncology Group.
In his role as Senior Vice President for Clinical Research at MSK, Dr. Sabbatini works to ensure that patients with all types of tumors have access to high-quality clinical trials. His efforts are focused on advancing treatments developed by MSK's own scientists while building strong partnerships with external sponsors. He places particular emphasis on developing and conducting trials with novel agents in the most efficient manner possible, with the aim of disseminating findings quickly to benefit patients at MSK and at institutions around the world.
