Leukemia Specialist, specializing in leukemia
I am a medical oncologist and hematologist who specializes in caring for people with acute and chronic leukemia, myelodysplastic syndromes and myeloproliferative neoplasms. I see patients at the David H. Koch Center for Cancer Care at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I make every effort to provide my patients and their families with compassionate care that best suits their individual goals and needs.
As an oncologist, I often meet my patients and their loved ones at a very vulnerable time of their lives. I value a strong partnership and open communication between our care team and our patients and families. With my training and background, I also recognize the importance of cultural awareness in cancer care, which can help us better understand our patients and lead to improved outcomes and reduce disparities in care.
I want my patients to know that I will always spend time discussing their diagnosis and explaining the different treatments and supportive care options available. I am committed to getting to know them and their background, and being available to address their concerns. My goal is to make my patients feel informed, empowered, and supported throughout their care journey.
As a researcher, I am interested in using real-world data and advanced epidemiological methods to answer challenging, relevant clinical questions and to inform future studies and drug development. I have a strong interest in understanding the inequalities in modern cancer care delivery and integrating disparity research into clinical trial design. I also help design and conduct clinical trials that investigate new treatment options for patients with acute myeloid leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome. Together with a team of expert clinicians, scientists, and support professionals at MSK, we aim to improve the care and outcomes of patients with leukemias and other blood cancers.
