About this trial
This study looks at whether fluid taken from the airways during surgery can help researchers learn more about non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The goal is to see if the fluid contains enough tiny particles called vesicles for testing. This could help us understand NSCLC better.
The trial's ID number is NCT05424029. This is an observational study, meaning it looks at information without giving a treatment. About 200 people are expected to take part, and it is not FDA-regulated.
Who can join
Adults aged 18 and older can join if they are having surgery to remove lung cancer. This includes surgeries like lobar or sublobar resections and pneumonectomies. Some patients with previous surgeries or radiation may also be eligible. However, those with active infections or if the surgery may cause problems will not be included. The trial team will confirm who can join.
Condition
Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
Age group
Adult, Older adult
The study team makes the final call on eligibility.
What happens in the study
Participants will have a bronchial washing done during surgery to collect fluid. The main task is to isolate exosomes, which are tiny particles, from these samples. This will happen on the first day of the study.
