About this trial

This clinical trial looks at the effects of adding a special type of radiation therapy called stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) to the usual treatment for non-small cell lung cancer that cannot be treated with surgery. The usual treatment includes other types of radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and sometimes immunotherapy. The goal is to see if this new approach can help patients live longer and improve their quality of life.

This is a Phase 3 trial, meaning it is looking at how well the treatment works and how safe it is. The trial is regulated by the FDA and aims to include about 474 participants.

Who can join

Adults aged 18 and older can join the study. Both men and women with a type of lung cancer that cannot be operated on are welcome. Participants must have a confirmed diagnosis and certain health conditions that allow them to receive treatment. The trial team will check to see if you meet the requirements before you can join.

What happens in the study

Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. One group will receive standard treatment with regular radiation and chemotherapy. The other group will receive the new treatment that includes SBRT along with the same chemotherapy. Everyone will then receive additional treatment with either immunotherapy or another medication based on their needs.
