About this trial
This study looks at whether a stem cell transplant or a combination of two medicines, azacitidine and venetoclax, is better at keeping acute myeloid leukemia (AML) from coming back. The focus is on patients who are 65 years and older and have responded well to the initial treatment. Researchers want to find the best way to help these patients stay healthy after treatment.
The trial's ID number is NCT06903702. It is a Phase 2 study, which means it is looking at how well the treatments work and how safe they are. The study is FDA-regulated and aims to include around 100 participants.
Who can join
This trial is for adults who are 65 years and older. Participants must have a confirmed diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia and must have responded well to treatment with azacitidine and venetoclax. They also need to have a suitable donor for the stem cell transplant. The trial team will check to make sure each person meets these requirements.

The study team makes the final call on eligibility.
What happens in the study
Participants will be placed into one of two groups by chance. One group will receive azacitidine every day for 7 days and take venetoclax daily for 28 days. The other group will receive a stem cell transplant after a preparation period. Everyone in the trial will receive one of these two treatments.
