About this trial
This study aims to collect information about treatments for esophageal and gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) cancer. Researchers want to learn how well different treatments work for patients with this type of cancer. The focus is on patients with stage IV adenocarcinoma, which is a specific kind of cancer.
The trial's ID number is NCT06558786. This is an observational study, meaning it looks at how patients are treated in real life without assigning them to a specific treatment. The trial is not regulated by the FDA for a drug or device. It hopes to include around 50 participants.
Who can join
Adults aged 18 and older, both men and women, who have recently been diagnosed with stage IV adenocarcinoma of the esophagus or GEJ can join. Candidates must have a limited number of metastases, or spread of cancer, in specific areas of the body. Some patients may not be eligible if they have certain other conditions or cancers, or if they are pregnant or breastfeeding. The trial team will confirm who is eligible to participate.

What happens in the study
Participants will fill out two questionnaires: the EORTC QLQ-C30 and the QLQ-OGS25, which help assess quality of life and symptoms. Patients who receive local therapy will complete these assessments at different points: at the start, about 7-9 months later, and again after one year. Those who do not get local therapy will complete the assessments at the start, after 6 months, and again after one year.
