About this trial
This study looks at patients with newly diagnosed or relapsed acute leukemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, and myeloproliferative neoplasms. The goal is to find out how many patients receive stem cell transplants and understand the reasons why some do not. The research aims to learn about the choices patients make regarding treatment options when transplants are suggested by doctors.
The trial's ID number is NCT02677064. This is an observational study, which means it is looking at what happens in real life without giving specific treatments. About 1,365 participants are expected to join.
Who can join
Adults aged 18 to 80 years can join. This study is open to men and women with newly diagnosed or relapsed acute leukemia, as well as those with specific blood disorders. Some patients with certain blood conditions like polycythemia vera or essential thrombocytosis cannot join. The trial team will confirm who is eligible.

What happens in the study
Participants will be divided into three groups:
Group A includes patients with acute leukemia.
Group B includes patients with myelodysplastic syndrome and myeloproliferative neoplasms.
Group C includes patients who relapse after their first stem cell transplant.
All groups will be followed to learn why patients may not proceed with the transplant when it's recommended. Laboratory assessments will be performed as part of standard care.
