About this trial
This study looks at changes in genes found in cancer patients. These changes, called mutations, can help us understand how cancer grows. Researchers will test tissue left over from surgeries or biopsies. Additionally, participants will provide blood or saliva samples to compare healthy genes with cancer genes. The goal is to see how these genetic changes affect responses to new cancer treatments.
The trial's ID number is NCT01775072. This is an observational study, meaning researchers are looking at how well the testing works in real-life settings. About 200 people are expected to participate.
Who can join
This study is open to children, adults, and older adults. It includes men and women with a history of cancer or those undergoing tests to check for cancer. Participants must be willing to provide samples and give consent. The trial team will confirm who is eligible to join.
Conditions
Solid Tumors, Hematologic Cancers
The study team makes the final call on eligibility.
What happens in the study
Participants will provide leftover tumor tissue or undergo a routine biopsy if needed. Everyone will also give a blood or saliva sample. The study has different parts focusing on solid tumors and blood cancers. Patients will not need new biopsies just for this study, but leftover tissues from their procedures will be used for testing.
