Targeting Prostate Cancer Recurrence with Curcumin After Surgery
NCT02064673 · RecruitingThis study looks at whether adding Curcumin can help men stay free of prostate cancer after surgery. It compares Curcumin to a placebo, which is a sugar pill that looks like Curcumin but has no active ingredients. The main goal is to see if Curcumin improves the time without cancer returning after surgery for prostate cancer.

Who can join
Men aged 30 to 80 who have had surgery for prostate cancer can join. They must have had a radical prostatectomy and have no signs of cancer spreading. They should not be receiving other treatments like hormone therapy or radiation. The trial team will confirm if you meet the requirements.
What happens during the trial
Participants will be randomly placed into two groups. One group will take Curcumin, 500 mg, twice a day. The other group will take a placebo, also twice a day. Both groups will follow this for 6 months. Everyone will be monitored for 3 years to check their prostate-specific antigen levels, which help indicate cancer activity.
