About this trial

This study is looking at how effective stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) is when added to standard treatment for patients with breast or lung cancer that has spread to other areas. The goal is to see if this approach helps patients have a longer time before their disease gets worse. Participants will have 1 to 5 metastases, which are cancer spots that started elsewhere in the body.

The trial ID is NCT03808337. It is a Phase 2 study, which means the trial is looking at how well the treatment works and how safe it is. The study is not regulated by the FDA for drugs but is for devices. About 145 people are expected to participate.

Who can join

Men and women aged 18 and older can join. Participants must have confirmed metastatic breast cancer or non-small cell lung cancer. They should have measurable disease and be able to receive SBRT. The trial team will check to see if each person meets the eligibility requirements.

What happens in the study

Participants will be placed in one of two groups by chance. One group will receive standard care, which includes treatments like chemotherapy and targeted therapies as decided by their doctors. The other group will receive SBRT along with standard care. SBRT will target all known areas of metastases at the same time, while they may continue standard therapy during treatment.
