Dr. Ann A. Chalmers

Dr. Ann A. Chalmers, MD, is a medical oncologist specializing in sarcoma and an investigator at Huntsman Cancer Institute, where she serves as Director of Inpatient Oncology and Sarcoma Lead for the Clinical Trials Office. She holds an appointment as Assistant Professor in the Division of Oncology at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Dr. Chalmers earned her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency and hematology/oncology fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago before joining Huntsman Cancer Institute in 2016.

Dr. Chalmers’ clinical practice focuses on the comprehensive care of patients with sarcoma, emphasizing individualized treatment plans that integrate standard therapies with clinical trial participation. She is actively engaged in collaborative research within the Connective Tissue Oncology Society and the American Society of Clinical Oncology, with particular interest in pragmatic clinical trials that directly address patient needs and improve outcomes.
