Dr. Deborah M. Axelrod

Dr. Deborah M. Axelrod, MD is a respected breast surgical oncologist and educator at NYU Langone Health, where she serves as Director of Clinical Breast Programs and Services and Professor of Surgery and Population Health. She earned her medical degree from the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University and completed her general surgery residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York. Board-certified in Surgery, she brings over three decades of experience providing expert care to patients with breast cancer. Dr. Axelrod offers a comprehensive, patient-centered approach to treatment that includes advanced surgical techniques, such as breast-conserving surgery and oncoplastic procedures, while coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams across the NYU Langone system.

In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Axelrod has been a strong advocate for preventive care and community-based breast health education.
