Dr. Michael A. Postow

Dr. Michael A. Postow, MD, is a nationally and internationally recognized medical oncologist specializing in the treatment of melanoma and immunotherapy for solid tumors. He serves as Chief of the Melanoma Service and Associate Attending Physician at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he also holds faculty appointments in the Department of Medicine. Dr. Postow earned his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and completed both his internal medicine residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and fellowship in hematology and oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering, where he has remained a leader in clinical care and translational research.

Dr. Postow is renowned for his expertise in immune checkpoint blockade and combination immunotherapies for melanoma and other skin cancers. His research has helped shape the field of cancer immunotherapy, particularly in understanding how to optimize treatment responses while managing immune-related side effects. He has led and contributed to numerous high-impact clinical trials investigating novel therapeutic combinations, including PD-1, CTLA-4, and LAG-3 inhibitors.
