Dr. Janice Mehnert

Dr. Janice Mehnert, MD, is a nationally recognized medical oncologist with deep expertise in the treatment and research of melanoma and other skin cancers. She serves as Associate Director for Clinical Research at NYU Langone’s Perlmutter Cancer Center and holds a faculty appointment as Professor in the Department of Medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Dr. Mehnert earned her medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where she also completed her residency, followed by a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at the same institution. Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology, she is widely respected for her leadership in clinical research and commitment to advancing care for patients with advanced malignancies.

Dr. Mehnert’s research is focused on translational oncology, particularly the development of novel therapeutic strategies for patients with difficult-to-treat tumors, including immunotherapies and targeted therapies. She has led and participated in multiple early-phase and investigator-initiated clinical trials, contributing significantly to the advancement of checkpoint inhibitors and combination therapies in melanoma.
