Dr. Richard J. Cote, MD, is a distinguished pathologist specializing in cancer diagnostics and biomarker development. He serves as Chair of the Department of Pathology at the Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami, and holds the Joseph R. Coulter Jr. Endowed Chair. Dr. Cote earned his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, completed his residency in anatomic pathology at the University of Chicago Hospitals, and pursued fellowship training in oncologic pathology. He is board-certified in Anatomic Pathology and recognized for his expertise in cancer pathology and translational research.
Dr. Cote’s research has focused on molecular diagnostics and the development of biomarkers to predict disease progression and treatment response in cancers such as breast, bladder, and prostate malignancies.
