Dr. Serena Wong

Serena Wong, MD, is a board-certified medical oncologist specializing in the care of patients with breast cancer at MSK Monmouth, part of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Prior to joining MSK, she built a successful breast oncology practice at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, where she also was involved in the education and training of future oncologists. Her approach to patient care is compassionate, personalized, and grounded in the latest medical advances, with a commitment to addressing not only the disease but the full range of physical, psychological, and financial challenges that accompany a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.

At MSK Monmouth, Dr. Wong offers patients access to a full range of cancer-related services, including clinical trials evaluating promising new therapies across various stages and subtypes of breast cancer. She has a particular interest in symptom management and quality of life concerns faced by women undergoing breast cancer treatment. Recognizing that advances in cancer therapy have improved outcomes but have not eliminated the burden of treatment-related side effects, including cognitive changes, weakness, fatigue, and sexual dysfunction, she collaborates with colleagues across multiple disciplines to conduct studies aimed at better understanding and addressing these issues.

Dr. Wong practices within a multidisciplinary team framework, working alongside experts from many different areas to ensure that each patient receives coordinated, individualized care.
