About this trial
This study looks at how the timing of meals might help people with cancer. Researchers want to see if time-restricted eating can reduce side effects of treatment, affect tumor growth, and improve mood and behaviors. This approach involves eating within a specific time frame each day, which may help the body during cancer treatment. The study will focus on patients with localized rectal or breast cancer.
The trial ID is NCT04722341. This is not a typical phase trial, but it aims to include about 175 participants. It is not FDA-regulated.
Who can join
Adults aged 18 and older can join. This includes people of all genders and backgrounds. Participants must have specific types of rectal or breast cancer and be receiving certain treatments. Those with certain health conditions or who are pregnant or breastfeeding cannot join. The trial team will confirm who is eligible before enrollment.

What happens in the study
Participants will be placed into two groups by chance. One group will practice time-restricted eating, where they eat for only 8 hours each day. The other group will follow a regular eating schedule of at least 12 hours. Everyone will receive care and support throughout the study.
