This study looks at how young adults report their health-related quality of life in cancer trials. It compares two ways of collecting this information: letting participants choose which health areas to report on, or using a standard set of topics. The goal is to see which method is more accepted and easier for young adults to use. This could help make sure their voices are heard in their care.
The trial's ID number is NCT05108298. This is not a drug study and does not involve a medical device. The study hopes to enroll about 400 participants.
Who can join
This trial is open to men and women ages 18 to 39 who have been diagnosed with cancer within the last 12 weeks. Participants should be receiving or planning to receive treatment for cancer. They need to be able to complete questionnaires in English and have access to the internet and a mobile phone for text messages. The trial team will confirm who is eligible to join.

What happens in the study
Participants will be randomly placed into two groups. One group will choose five specific health-related quality of life topics to report on. The other group will report on five standard topics. Everyone will complete questionnaires online at different times, like after 1 month, 3 months, and so on. The study aims to see how well each group completes their questionnaires and how they feel about the process.
