Dr. Cameron W. Brennan, MD, is a highly accomplished neurosurgeon and physician-scientist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), where he specializes in the surgical and translational treatment of primary and metastatic brain tumors. He earned his MD from Weill Cornell Medical College, completed his neurological surgery residency at NewYork–Presbyterian/Weill Cornell, followed by a surgical neuro-oncology fellowship at MSKCC. As a Professor in the Neurosurgery Department and a member of the Human Oncology and Pathogenesis Program, Dr. Brennan practices at MSKCC's main campus and its regional centers. He offers both in-person and telehealth consultations to patients with gliomas, medulloblastomas, acoustic neuromas, and other intracranial lesions.

He is internationally recognized for his integration of genomic analysis with clinical neurosurgery. His research lab investigates gene fusions and molecular subclasses in glioblastoma, using genomics and proteomics to reveal vastly heterogeneous signaling pathways within brain tumors. As an MSK investigator and external co-chair of the Cancer Genome Atlas pilot project, he helped pioneer microarray and computational techniques to detect novel receptor tyrosine kinase alterations. With over 300 publications and nearly 50,000 research reads, his work continues to inform precision treatment strategies in neuro-oncology.

Beyond the operating room and laboratory, Dr. Brennan contributes to education and institutional leadership. He is a faculty mentor to neurosurgical residents and fellows and presents his findings at national and international oncology forums. His discovery-driven approach—linking laboratory findings to clinical outcomes—has shaped complex tumor management algorithms, integrating neuroendoscopy, intraoperative imaging, and Gamma Knife radiosurgery. Through his combined roles, Dr. Brennan is regarded as a top-tier expert in brain tumor surgery and translational neuro-oncology.
