Dr. Julie R. Brahmer, MD, MSc, is a world-renowned thoracic oncologist specializing in lung cancer and immunotherapy. She serves as Professor of Oncology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Director of the Thoracic Oncology Program at Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Brahmer earned her medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, completed residency training in internal medicine at the University of Utah, and pursued fellowship training in medical oncology at Johns Hopkins. She also earned a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.
A global leader in immuno-oncology, Dr. Brahmer played a pivotal role in the clinical development of immune checkpoint inhibitors, including the first anti–PD-1 and anti–PD-L1 therapies for lung cancer.
