Dr. Weiser is an attending colorectal surgeon at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and holds the Stuart H. Q. Quan Chair in Colorectal Surgery. His clinical focus spans the full spectrum of large‑bowel malignancies, where he combines expertise in laparoscopic, robotic and nerve‑sparing approaches with an unwavering commitment to functional preservation. Patients under his care receive individualized surgical plans that integrate high‑definition imaging, precision staging tools and careful consideration of quality‑of‑life goals. 

 

An active investigator, Dr. Weiser leads translational research that refines prognostic models and explores circulating tumor DNA as a guide for tailored therapy. He is the surgical lead for the PROSPECT trial, an international study designed to personalize rectal‑cancer treatment while reducing treatment‑related toxicity. His scholarly output of peer‑reviewed articles, textbook chapters and invited lectures underscores a dedication to moving discoveries swiftly from laboratory concepts into operative reality.
