Dr. Paul Bunn Jr.

Dr. Paul A. Bunn Jr., MD, is an internationally recognized medical oncologist specializing in lung cancer. He is the James Dudley Chair in Cancer Research at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and served as founding Director of the University of Colorado Cancer Center. Dr. Bunn earned his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College, completed his residency in internal medicine at Saint Luke’s Hospital in New York, and pursued fellowship training in medical oncology at the National Cancer Institute. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology and is widely acknowledged as one of the foremost authorities in lung cancer research and treatment.

Dr. Bunn’s career has focused on the development of novel therapeutics for lung cancer, spanning targeted therapies, chemotherapy, and immunotherapies. He has authored more than 400 peer-reviewed publications and was a leader in cooperative group research that defined treatment standards in lung cancer. His work contributed to the advancement of biomarker-driven therapy and has influenced practice worldwide. He also served as President of ASCO and has been recognized with numerous awards for his contributions to oncology.
