Dr. Ticiana Leal

Dr. Ticiana Leal, MD, is a well-regarded medical oncologist specializing in thoracic malignancies, with a focus on lung cancer. She serves as Director of the Thoracic Medical Oncology Program at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Leal earned her medical degree from the Federal University of Ceará in Brazil and completed her residency in internal medicine at Loyola University Medical Center. She pursued fellowship training in hematology and medical oncology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology and is recognized for her expertise in developing new therapies for lung cancer.

Dr. Leal’s research is centered on early-phase clinical trials and translational studies for non-small cell and small cell lung cancers. She has been a principal investigator on numerous clinical trials evaluating immunotherapies, targeted agents, and novel drug combinations. Her work has contributed to advancing precision medicine and expanding treatment options for patients with thoracic malignancies.
