Dr. Mark A. Dickson

Dr. Mark A. Dickson, MD, is a medical oncologist specializing in the treatment of soft tissue and bone sarcomas, as well as Kaposi sarcoma. He serves as Clinical Director of the Sarcoma Medical Oncology Service and for the Head and Neck Cancer, Melanoma, and Sarcoma Inpatient Service at his institution. His clinical focus encompasses a range of rare and complex malignancies, and he brings dedicated expertise to the care of patients with these challenging diagnoses.

Dr. Dickson's research is centered on the development of new drugs for sarcoma, with a particular focus on targeted small molecules and antibodies. He has a special interest in novel therapies for liposarcoma and perivascular epithelioid cell tumor, also known as PEcoma. His research also includes work on HIV-associated Kaposi sarcoma conducted in collaboration with the AIDS Malignancy Consortium. Through these efforts, he aims to identify treatments that are not only more effective but also less toxic, with the ultimate goal of improving quality of life for people living with cancer.
