Dr. Ping Chi

Dr. Ping Chi, MD, PhD, is a physician-scientist and board-certified medical oncologist specializing in the treatment of soft tissue and bone sarcomas at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). Working closely with colleagues across surgery and radiation oncology, Dr. Chi provides multidisciplinary, personalized care for patients facing a wide range of sarcoma diagnoses. A core principle of her clinical approach is that no two sarcomas are alike, and treatment plans are always tailored to meet each individual patient's needs and goals. Dr. Chi also places a strong emphasis on medication affordability, working with MSK's clinical care team to help patients access the treatments they need at prices they can afford. She is fluent in English and Mandarin.

As Co-Director for Sarcoma Translational Research at MSK's Sarcoma Center, Dr. Chi leads a laboratory in the Human Oncology and Pathogenesis Program (HOPP) focused on understanding how sarcomas develop and identifying novel, effective treatments. Her research centers on the pathogenesis of sarcomas and the discovery of new therapeutic approaches. She is actively involved in a collaborative effort with oncologists, pathologists, and surgeons to analyze tumor tissues and design clinical trials that offer personalized therapy to patients.
