Dr. David A. Fishman, MD, is an internationally recognized gynecologic oncologist serving as Cancer Center Director and Director of Gynecologic Oncology at NewYork‑Presbyterian Queens, and Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Weill Cornell Medicine. He earned his MD from Texas Tech University School of Medicine in 1988, completed residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Yale University School of Medicine, and fellowship training in Gynecologic Oncology at Yale as well. Board-certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology with over 35 years of experience, Dr. Fishman provides expert care for ovarian, uterine, and other gynecologic malignancies through both in-person and telehealth consultations in Queens and the greater New York area.
He is widely esteemed for his groundbreaking research on ovarian cancer detection and metastasis regulation. In 1999, he established the National Ovarian Cancer Early Detection Program within the NCI’s Early Detection Research Network, supported by NIH funding. He founded the NYP Queens Risk Assessment and Cancer Prevention Program, which integrates genetics, psychosocial support, and multidisciplinary care for high-risk individuals. Dr. Fishman also serves as editor for major oncology journals, reviews for prominent academic organizations, and sits on international study panels.
