Dr. Dennis Chi

Dr. Dennis S. Chi, MD, is a highly esteemed gynecologic oncologist and serves as Deputy Chief of the Gynecology Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC). He holds the prestigious position of Ronald O. Perelman Chair in Gynecologic Surgery and is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Chi earned his medical degree from SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine, followed by residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the New York Hospital–Cornell Medical Center and fellowship training in gynecologic oncology at MSKCC. Board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as Gynecologic Oncology, he specializes in the surgical management of ovarian, endometrial, and other gynecologic cancers, with expertise in complex cytoreductive procedures.

Recognized for his unparalleled contributions to surgical innovation in gynecologic oncology, Dr. Chi has pioneered advanced techniques to improve survival outcomes, particularly for women with advanced-stage ovarian cancer. His work has helped establish optimal surgical standards for achieving complete tumor debulking, a critical factor in long-term survival. He has authored more than 250 peer-reviewed publications and is an internationally sought-after speaker in his field. Dr. Chi is also actively involved in clinical trials exploring multimodal treatment strategies, integrating surgical excellence with chemotherapy and targeted therapies to optimize individualized care.

In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Chi plays a central role in training the next generation of gynecologic oncologists through his mentorship at MSKCC and Weill Cornell.
