Dr. Jochen Lorch, MD, MS, is a highly respected medical oncologist specializing in head and neck cancers and rare endocrine malignancies. He serves as Director of the Thyroid Cancer Center and Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine. Dr. Lorch earned his medical degree from the University of Münster in Germany and later completed residency training in internal medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He pursued fellowship training in hematology and oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where he also earned a Master of Science degree in Clinical Investigation. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.
Dr. Lorch’s clinical and research expertise spans thyroid cancers, salivary gland cancers, and other rare head and neck tumors. He has led clinical trials investigating targeted therapies, immunotherapies, and novel systemic approaches for patients with advanced and treatment-resistant head and neck cancers. His work has significantly advanced therapeutic options for patients with rare malignancies, improving both survival and quality of life.
