Dr. Douglas E. Laux, MD, is a medical oncologist and physician-scientist specializing in prostate cancer and translational oncology. He currently serves as Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and is a key investigator at the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center. Dr. Laux earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin, completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Minnesota, and trained in hematology and oncology at the University of Wisconsin. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology, and is known for his research into novel therapeutic approaches for advanced prostate cancer.
Dr. Laux’s research centers on the development and clinical testing of targeted therapies, immunotherapies, and combination strategies for castration-resistant prostate cancer. His laboratory-based work investigates tumor biology, mechanisms of resistance, and biomarkers for patient selection. He has been a principal investigator on early- and late-phase clinical trials evaluating new androgen receptor inhibitors, radioligand therapies, and immune checkpoint blockade in prostate cancer.
