Gynecologic Oncologist, specializing in Gynecologic Cancers
Dr. Robert M. Wenham, MD, MS, is a nationally recognized gynecologic oncologist specializing in the treatment of ovarian, uterine, cervical, and other gynecologic cancers. He serves as Chair of the Gynecologic Oncology Program at Moffitt Cancer Center and holds faculty appointments within the Moffitt Research Institute and University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. Dr. Wenham earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, completed his residency at Harvard Medical School’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital, and pursued fellowship training in gynecologic oncology at Duke University Medical Center. He is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Gynecologic Oncology.
Dr. Wenham is widely known for his leadership in clinical trials and translational research, with a focus on novel therapies for gynecologic malignancies, including immunotherapy, targeted agents, and complex surgical approaches. He has served as principal investigator on numerous national and investigator-initiated trials, and his research has contributed to advancing personalized medicine in gynecologic oncology. A prolific academic, Dr. Wenham has authored many peer-reviewed publications and is actively involved in developing clinical protocols that improve outcomes for patients with advanced and recurrent disease.
In addition to his clinical and research accomplishments, Dr. Wenham is a committed educator and mentor, training future leaders in gynecologic oncology through his academic and institutional roles. He is an active member of professional organizations such as the Society of Gynecologic Oncology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology, where he contributes to national efforts in cancer research, education, and policy.
