Dr. Sushanth Reddy, MD, is a respected surgical oncologist specializing in hepatopancreatobiliary and gastrointestinal cancers. He serves as Professor of Surgery and Section Chief of Surgical Oncology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Heersink School of Medicine, where he also co-leads the Liver Cancer Program at the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Reddy earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School, completed his residency in general surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and pursued fellowship training in surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. He is board-certified in General Surgery and is recognized for his expertise in complex hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery as well as translational research in gastrointestinal malignancies.
A committed clinician-scientist, Dr. Reddy’s research focuses on novel treatment strategies and translational studies in hepatocellular carcinoma and pancreatic cancer. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and contributed to national cooperative group efforts aimed at improving outcomes for patients with advanced gastrointestinal cancers.
