Dr. Nabil F. Saba, MD, is a nationally recognized medical oncologist specializing in head and neck cancers. He serves as Professor of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine, holds the Lynne and Howard Halpern Chair in Head and Neck Cancer Research, and is Director of the Head and Neck Medical Oncology Program at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. Dr. Saba earned his medical degree from Saint Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon, and completed his residency in internal medicine at St. Luke’s–Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. He pursued fellowship training in hematology and oncology at Emory University. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology and is widely regarded for his leadership in advancing therapy for head and neck cancers.
Dr. Saba’s research focuses on immunotherapy and novel targeted treatments for head and neck squamous cell carcinomas. He has served as principal investigator on multiple national clinical trials, contributing to the integration of immunotherapy into treatment paradigms for recurrent and metastatic disease. His publications have significantly influenced treatment guidelines and expanded therapeutic options for patients with advanced head and neck cancers. His translational work has also explored biomarkers of response and resistance to immunotherapy, shaping the future of personalized care in this field.
In addition to his clinical and research leadership, Dr. Saba is a dedicated educator and mentor.
